It's been a while since Guillermo del Toro has wanted to make his own adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic novel, Frankenstein. And now it's finally happening. The film is set to begin production in February if the SAG strikes come to a conclusion. It's been announced that Christoph Waltz has joined the cast along with Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, and Andrew Garfield. When speaking with Collider at the 10th anniversary IMAX screening of Pacific Rim, del Toro had this to say:

"I'm doing Frankenstein. We're working on it. We start shooting in February and it's a movie I have been wanting to do for 50 years since I saw the first Frankenstein. I had an epiphany. And it's basically a momvie that required a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn't have done 10-20 years ago. Now I'm brave or crazy enough or something and we're gonna tackle it."

Waltz recently worked with del Toro on his Pinocchio, giving voice to Count Volpe. There is no announcement as who Waltz will play quite yet but we're sure he'll fit right in alongside this amazing set of actors.
