There Can Be Only One or Maybe Two: Chad Stahelski's Highlander Starring Henry Cavill Moving Forward at Lionsgate

Today brought big news that Chad (John Wick) Stahelski's Highlander reboot is officially moving forward at Lionsgate. The reboot has been in development hell for several years with small updates appearing infrequently. Now, it looks as if the movie has finally made some much needed momentum and will start gaining traction towards heading into production. The original '80s film has continued to gain a cult following and spawned numerous sequels and a television series to dwindling returns. 

An announcement was made today that the upcoming relaunch will be like "John Wick with swords", promising amazing fight choreography and will incorporate story points from both the television show and movies, with the plot focusing on The Prize. There is no official release date quite yet and will probably linger until the SAG strikes are completed. 

No other casting has been announced and the story is being kept under wraps. There is no word whether or not Cavill will be a new take on Christopher Lambert's Connor Macleod or if it will be a brand new character. Obviously, we'll update as we hear anything more about this upcoming project.
