After a very successful trilogy of films, Planet of the Apes will return with another set of three films that take place after the death of Caesar. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will see a 300 year time jump and will feature the de-evolution of mankind that has taken place over the course of time. Humans will be in servitude to their ape counterparts long after the war has ended.

Currently, the latest film is set to premiere in theaters on May 24, 2024. The movie is directed by Wes Ball, known for his work on the Maze Runner movie series. Ball has been tasked with bringing the apes back to theaters and will most likely have a hard time delivering the same quality that made the trilogy so good. But we'll remain hopeful

When speaking with Empire, Ball described the latest film as "Apocalypto with apes". Apocalypto is of course the 2006 movie directed by Mel Gibson. The movie is known for its amazing set pieces, visuals, and action sequences. Ball is attempting to begin a whole new trilogy that will continue Caesar's legacy some 300 years later that features similar themes and action to the Gibson hit.
