Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon Part One was always going to get an extended edition. And now it's been announced that the 3 hour R-Rated vision for his film will drop on Netflix this coming summer. The movie will have an extra hour of footage and will feature way more action and violence. According to a recent appearance on the DGA Director's Cut podcast, Snyder said that his plan is to release the movie in summer 2024 after the second film drops on April 19th. He wants to give his audience a chance to see the follow-up prior to the release of his longer version.

Netflix actually gave him an extra budget to film additional footage for the R-Rated cut. "All my other director's cuts are me just reacting to the studio like getting noted and then freaking out and then running to home video to save me," Synder said.

The plan is to eventually release a director's cut of the second movie, A The Scargiver. But there is no news quite yet on when that one will hit Netflix.

Snyder is obviously known for going back and toiling with a finished product. The Snyder Cut of Justice League was a massive upgrade over the movie that was released in theaters and he did an alternate cut of his live action Watchmen movie too.
