It looks like Star Trek is getting two new movies in the near future. Variety has reported that Paramount Pictures is planning a new film that will serve as an origin story from Andor's Toby Haynes on board as director. Seth Grahame-Smith is currently penning the script for this latest cinematic adventure in space. This next entry is said to take place long before the Kelvin Timeline movies and will be another attempt at an origin story from the Trek universe.

There have been no casting announcements or release window announced quite yet. Haynes did a great job at Andor offering up a more grounded Star Wars story and may be able to add something fresh to the decades old brand. Star Trek has been missing from theaters since 2016's Beyond flopped against numerous other massive summer blockbusters.

Along with this news, it was also reported that a Star Trek 4 is currently back in development. This would serve as a closing chapter for the cast of the rebooted timeline.
