Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two continues its epic box office run after another great weekend in cinemas. The motion picture sequel is nearing the $500 million mark in just a couple weeks of release. It has already accumulated $494.7 million in global revenues of which $208 million is from domestic U.S. ticket sales and $289.4 is from international markets. It has already surpassed the entire financial run of the first movie in the series, catapulting it as the biggest financial hit of 2024 so far in both domestic and worldwide release.

However, the first film received a dual release in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time. This definitely hampered its box office take. Despite the hybrid release, Dune: Part One went on to gross $433 million in global sales, which was still considered a major success coming off the pandemic and months of theaters being closed.

The movie has grossed over $100 million so far from premium IMAX screenings alone. Part Two cost just over $190 to produce with an additional $100 million in marketing. No matter what, the movie will be considered a financial success for Warner Bros. and will definitely solidify chances of Villeneuve's next chapter in the ongoing saga, Dune: Messiah. The third film has not been confirmed by the studio at this point but is expected to be announced in the coming months.
