In a world where no film from the '80s is considered sacred, it looks like 20th Century Studios is prepping a remake of the science fiction film, Enemy Mine. The film which is a rough re-telling of another sci-fi classic, Robinson Crusoe on Mars in which two warring enemies befriend each other and overcome alien environments and bad guys is being developed by Star Trek: Picard writer, Terry Matalas. He is sed to write a new script for the upcoming movie.

The late Wolfgang Petersen directed the original film which was a box office failure at the time continues to drum up a large cult following in the worlds of science fiction. There is currently no director attached to the film but is expected to have an amazing script as Matalas did pen the third season of Picard. He also pitched a spin-off called Star Trek: Legacy that would have served as a follow-up to the short run series. Paramount ultimately passed on developing another show around The Next Generation cast.

There is no release window announced at this time, but we'll be sure to continue updating with any more news. THR reported this news earlier today. Matalas is also set to head up an upcoming Vision series for Disney+.
