The upcoming limited run series, Blade Runner 2099 has officially wrapped filming in Prague. The show which will serve as a continuation of the science fiction series has completed filming after numerous delays caused by the writer's strike. Production was initially set for Northern Ireland's Belfast Harbour Studios but ended up shifting to Prague due to constraints caused by the strikes. The show was initially announced in 2022 but ended up getting pushed back. Jonathan van Tulleken is directing the first two episodes in the short run event series.
Michelle Yeoh is headlining the continuation as a replicant at the end of her lifespan with support coming from Hunter Schafer, Tom Burke, and Daniel Rigby.
The show is now expected to premiere on Amazon Prime some time in 2025. The show picks up after the events of Blade Runner and its sequel Blade Runner 2049, also the 2021 animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
